Brian McKnight has found a new tour buddy, his 17-month-old son, Brian Kainoa Makoa Jr. The 55-year-old singer/songwriter shared an adorable video of his son joining him onstage while on tour.
“BRIAN JR.’S DEBUT with DADDY at Universal Orlando at Hard Rock Live last Friday 06/28/2024 @hardrockliveorlando 18 months old and 18 countries visited so far,” McKnight began his caption of an Instagram reel of he and his son during the concert.
“Thank you God for always protecting and blessing us keeping us safe in our own little world while taking Brian Jr. all over the world. Feeling so incredibly grateful to be able to enjoy His greatest gift to the full, completely present celebrating every moment of every day as we love and nurture our family.”
He concluded his post, asking fans to make sure to join him on social media as he will begin to share even more special moments with he and his family. “Join us, mostly in stories, as we start to share McKnight Family moments with you, almost never in real time but as memories to inspire you to always be present in the moment while you continue to make memories of your own of the life you love too! Out of these 18 flags are 2 countries we aren’t visiting but actually where we live. The USA and…… Any guesses?”
McKnight is father to five children in total. In addition to his 17-month-old son, the “Back at One” singer also shares son Jack and daughter Julia with his current wife, Leilani Mendoza. The multi-hyphenate entertainer is also father to sons Brian Jr. and Niko with whom he shares with ex-wife Julie McKnight. McKnight is also father to daughter Briana McKnight from a previous relationship.
McKnight met public scrutiny earlier this year for not acknowledging his biological children from previous relationships, while praising his stepchildren. The court of public opinion also had a lot to say about McKnight legally changing his name to match that of his son, whom he calls his, “legacy“.
We don’t know about you, but the best part of the video is when Jr. clapped, giving his father his personal seal of approval. We definitely cannot wait to see more!
