Draya Michele recently marked a special milestone as her son Jru Scandrick turned eight.
Taking to her Instagram stories, she shared snapshots from his private birthday celebration, captioning one with, “Happy 8th birthday to my Golden Boy.”
The images captured Jru in high spirits, surrounded by his friends, with one shot showing him beaming at the camera while getting ready to cut his birthday cake.
Draya, who is also mom to a 22-year-old son named Knko Howard, is 32 weeks pregnant with her third child.
In a recent Instagram story, she candidly opened up about her pregnancy, expressing both joy and the challenges she’s encountered along the way.
“I am enjoying it, i am happy but it has been a journey,” she said.
She spoke about her struggle with Melasma, a common skin condition characterized by dark patches. Draya shared that her Melasma is due to a vitamin D deficiency, and causes darkening on her upper lip and other parts of her body.
In a light-hearted moment, she confessed to her late-night YouTube habit, saying, “I just wanna be clear on what keeps me up late at night…It’s breast feeding videos ok. I never did it. I wanna do it. Not sure I can do it (breast aug). Don’t know if I’ll produce milk. My daughter might not latch. Other than that. I’m top 5 happiest I’ve ever been in my life.”
Acknowledging the resilience of fellow mothers, she continued, “But seriously …Shout out to breast feeding and pumping moms. It’s so much more difficult than I ever thought. I aspire to be like yall this go around.”
Michele announced her pregnancy in March. In a message shared on her Instagram on International Womens Day, the 39-year-old reflected on the significance of motherhood.
She wrote, “Happy #InternationalWomensDay! As women, we navigate through so much, often leading us to question, “What is my purpose?” For me, the magic lies in motherhood and the awe-inspiring ability to bring life into this world over the span of two decades. It’s my superpower. And if anything can surpass the wonder of being a woman, it’s the privilege of bringing another woman into existence.”
