The show’s star, Alaya “That Girl Lay Lay” High, took to Instagram to express her gratitude for being part of the show.

“The End Of A Beginning,” the 17-year-old began her post.

“If you know me you know I don’t do the mushy stuff but this was special. I literally went from rapping in a car with no acting experience to having a self titled HIT tv show. I loved every second of experiencing growth and life with my TV family! I remain thankful for this opportunity that I’d been manifesting since I was 5 sitting in the house watching Nickelodeon all day lol! I don’t know what exactly is in store next but because of each person on the Radford set that didn’t allow me to quit, and made sure I knew that I was a natural born star, I am 100% ready!”

She concluded her post, “Rest easy David and drop me a script or two in my dreams lol. Huge thank you to all my fans that have fought for me and loved me near and afar, I love you deeply. TGLL is far from being over. Stay tuned… this is most definitely to be continued.”

The “David” that High was referring to in her post was That Girl Lay Lay creator, David A. Arnold, who sadly passed in September 2022 at the age of 54.

If you by some chance are unfamiliar with the series, it follows “That Girl Lay Lay” as an avatar from a personal affirmation app. “That Girl Lay Lay” magically comes to life, and she and her best friend Sadie, (Gabrielle Nevaeh Green), navigate life as teenagers and discover who they truly are.

“After 46 episodes across two seasons of That Girl Lay Lay, we are ending production on the show, and we are incredibly grateful to the cast and crew for their immeasurable contributions on the production,” a Nickelodeon spokesperson confirmed in a statement to Deadline.

In addition to High and Green, the series also features Peyton Perrine III as Sadie’s brother, Marky; Tiffany Daniels as Sadie’s mom, Trish; and Thomas Hobson as Sadie’s dad, Bryce.

The series finale aired on March 20; however, you can watch it all over again on Netflix.
