NICKELODEON’S “THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS” RETURNS TO THE SMALL SCREEN!

If you were a fan of the original Nickelodeon series, The Fairly OddParents, then you have an idea of the fun and antics await a new generation. Just in time to mark the original series’ 23rd anniversary at the end of March, Nickelodeon is gearing up to debut an expansion of The Fairly OddParents universe. Get ready as Nickelodeon’s The Fairly OddParents returns to the small screen!

The new animated series, Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, is set to debut on Nickelodeon this spring. According to Deadline, below is a synopsis of what we can expect.

The 20-episode new series follows Hazel Wells (Ashleigh Crystal Hairston,) a 10-year-old who has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia because of her dad’s new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony, who’s just left for college, leaving her lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when the pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal that they are no ordinary neighbors — they’re fairy godparents Cosmo (Daran Norris) and Wanda (Susanne Blakeslee).

Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is produced by Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank, CA. The series is co-executive produced by David Stone (Teen Titans Go!), Lindsay Katai (Infinity Train), Ashleigh Crystal Hairston (Tiny Toons Looniversity) and Daniel Abramovici (The Peanuts Movie).

Fred Seibert (Adventure Time) and Butch Hartman (Fairly OddParents) will serve as executive producers for the upcoming spin-off. Production of the project will be overseen by Claudia Spinelli, SVP Animation for Big Kids at Nickelodeon, and Kelley Gardner, VP Current Series, Animation. Executive in Charge of Fairly OddParents: A New Wish will be Neil Wade.

If you don’t remember the original series, created by Butch Harmon, ran from 2001-2017 and was one of the most beloved animated series’ on the Nickelodeon network. Per IMDb.com, the original series followed the adventures of Timmy Turner, Wanda, and Cosmo when he gave up being tortured and humiliated by his babysitter and was put under the care of two fairy godparents, who can grant him almost any wish, which leads to dire consequences.

We cannot wait to see just what kind of mischief ensures this time around!
