Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster marked a major milestone as they celebrated their son Usher “Cinco” Raymond V’s 16th birthday on November 26th.
The proud parents took to instagram to share birthday wishes to their firstborn on his special day.
Tameka shared a touching message, reflecting on a moment when Cinco, at the age of 5, nearly drowned in a pool.
She wrote, “Celebrating my son Cinco’s (URV) 16th birthday today! Emotions are high as I reflect on his incredible journey—his strength and resilience have been my inspiration. From almost losing him at 5 to watching him grow, I’m endlessly grateful & HAPPY to be his Mom.”
The proud mom continued, “Help me shower him with Birthday wishes! …. I LOVE you to Life son @cincoye ~May God continue to love, guide and protect you.. (FYI: that’s him singing as a baby brat).”
Usher, who is currently performing at his Vegas residency show, made sure to send a heartfelt birthday shout-out: “Happy super sixteen to my firstborn @cincoye, we celebrating U in ATL & Vegas.”
A week prior to the big day, the doting parents threw an epic amusement park-themed birthday bash for Cinco, complete with thrilling rides and delectable treats. The icing on the cake? A special performance by rapper Gherbo.
Usher Raymond V entered the world on Nov. 26, 2007, when Usher and Tameka were still married. Reflecting on his hopes for his son ahead of his birth, Usher shared with PEOPLE:
“I just want my son to fully be coherent and to be healthy, first and foremost,” he said. “You can wish for a million and one things. But I hope that my son has the same energy I had as a child. Hopefully, he won’t be as bad as me. I hope that he’s just a healthy son.”
In addition to Usher Raymond V, Foster and Raymond are also parents to son Naviyd Ely, born on Dec. 10, 2008.
