In a recent cover interview with GQ Magazine, Kim Kardashian opened about seeking parenting advice from a child psychologist as she navigates the of being a ingle mother of four.
Kim revealed that she tried therapy before her marriage ended, but now, she consults with a therapist for guidance in raising her children.
“I do have a therapist that only deals in child psychology that I talk to to get parenting tips and advice,” she said. In addition to her professional advice, Kardashian said that she also has a village that she leans on for parenting advice as well.
“Sometimes I feel challenged by parenting. But I have the best group of friends and we talk about everything together, so that to me is therapy.”
Kardashian went on to say in the interview that she also tries to instill a solid work ethic in her children as her father, the late Robert Kardashian, did with her.
“She gets a huge pitcher and fills it, puts it in her wagon, and goes down to the corner,” Kardashian used the example of her eldest daughter North and her neighborhood lemonade stand business. “She has a table and chairs and fans to keep herself cool. She makes signs. She stays there hours and hours. Her friends help, so she splits the money with them. If a random person stops, she will charge them only $2. If she knows you, she will fully scam you. I’ll get calls from my friends saying she charged them $20 for a lemonade. She’ll grab their $20 and say, ‘I don’t have any change.’ ”
Kardashian seems to be continually looking for ways to positively improve on being a parent. A few months ago, she admitted that discipline didn’t come easy for her. To help her out in that particular arena, especially when it comes to her son, Saint, Kardashian hired a “manny“.
“It’s really hard for me to be really strict and to discipline a lot,” Kardashian admitted at the time. “My parents weren’t strict at all and sometimes because I’m really busy, it would be amazing if I had a partner who would tap me out and take over and handle it but, you know, it can’t happen like that.”
The entreoreneur continued, “I do think that my household and even our family is very female-dominated. I recently hired a manny. I really wanted a male around that would be picking them up and taking them to sports, and I was scared out of my mind to tell their dad that.”
Although she was scared to share the news with her ex-husband, Kanye West, in the end, it all turned out positively to work in the best interest for the children.
