Nickelodeon’s That Girl Lay Lay is dropping new music and a new video. You definitely have to check it out because in the latest visual, she and Erica Banks are eating!
Lay Lay’s new song “i ate,” is the the first single from her new era of music, marking her transition from child star to young adult.
“I’m so excited to release this music video! It’s been a long time coming and I’m so proud of the final product,” Lay Lay in a recent press release.
“Getting to work with the amazingly talented Erica Banks was the cherry on top. It’s just the beginning of a new era for me and I’m so excited for what’s to come!”
Twenty five-year-old rapper, Erica Banks, was not the only industry heavy-hitter helping to bring this project to fruition. “I ate” was directed by the award-winning Alphamale Visuals production company.
The “i ate,” music video has been described as “a stunning visual display of all things fly and fun. [That] captures the essence of Lay Lay’s artistry, showcasing her unique style and undeniable charisma.”
In the early part of the summer, the 16-year-old entertainer covered the June issue of The Hollywood Reporter discussing her career and how, although she is at the pinnacle of success, she still doesn’t feel famous.
“I still don’t feel famous,” the teen said in her interview. “I would say I’m known,” she adds. “I’m popular. But famous? I’m not quite there.”
She continued, “It takes a bit longer to get there this way, and that’s OK.”
Lay Lay rose to fame at the age of 11 years old when a video clip of her rapping went viral. Leveraging her viral status, Lay Lay went forward to secure her own television show, merchandising deal, and much more with Nickelodeon.
What is next for Lay Lay? Well, only time will tell, but we will definitely be here for the journey!
