Alicia Keys’ 8-year-old son, Genesis, took on the role of his mother’s security guard during her live performance this past weekend.

Swizz Beatz, Alicia’s husband and Genesis’ father, proudly shared adorable snaps of the moment on Instagram. The images showed Genesis wearing a bomber jacket and his trusty crocs, fully prepared to shield his mother from any unexpected surprises.


“My boy said I’m not playing no games on moms stage. He a real serious one. Thank you Gen we love you and your protection. He didn’t care she was live on stage,” Swizz captioned the images.

In recent weeks, various artists such as Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Bebe Rexha, and Drake have fallen victim to the strange trend of fans throwing objects during performances. Even Taylor Swift and Cardi B faced similar incidents.

“He heard how people been acting at shows lately. My boy serious in real life,” Swizz added.

Fans were thrilled by Genesis’ protective instincts and showered him with admiration in the comments section. Some humorously praised his choice of crocs in “sports mode” while standing guard on stage.

“When the crocs in sport mode you know it’s serious busines,” one person wrote.

“Standing on stage being a bodyguard with crocs in sports mode is top tier”, another person chimed in.

Actress Tracee Ellis Ross also joined the conversation, finding the situation both hilarious and concerning, noting that some people have indeed “lost their minds.”

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are parent to sons Genesis and Egypt Dean,12. The couple also co-parent Beatz’s three children from his previous marriage: sons Prince Nasir, 22, and Kasseem Jr., 16, and daughter Nicole, 14.
