DJ Mustard, real name Dijon McFarlane, has secured a major victory in his contentious divorce after a judge dismissed his ex-wife’s request for $82,000 per month in child support.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Mustard will now pay $24,500 per month in child support to Chanel Thierry, the mother of his children. This amount is still significant but far less than the staggering initial amount demanded by Chanel.
In a significant win for Mustard, he will also keep his property, house, music royalties, as well as his cars and jewelry collection.
As part of their prenuptial agreement, DJ Mustard made a one-time payment of $315,000 to his ex-wife, but she will not receive any ongoing spousal support.
The court also ordered Chanel to share fifty percent of the children’s school and medical expenses, which is another favorable outcome for Mustard. Additionally, he voluntarily agreed to cover all the expenses for the children’s extracurricular activities.
During the divorce proceedings, the couple battled over their children’s presence on social media. Mustard expressed concerns that Chanel’s use of the children on her Instagram to promote her “brand” exposed them to potential predators and negative media consequences. He argued that the children lacked the capacity to consent to the permanent use of their images on the internet.
Ultimately, the judge allowed both parties to post images of the children on social media but imposed a strict rule prohibiting any “disparaging” comments about each other online. The divorce initially unfolded as one of the messiest celebrity break-ups, with Mustard accusing his ex-wife of “stalking” him and causing conflicts during custody exchanges.
Mustard and Chanel share three children together, Kiylan, Kauner and Kody.
