Dwight Howard is pushing his kids towards greatness. On Thursday, the NBA player took to Instagram to share videos of him training his kids. In one clip, one of Dwight’s kids can be heard crying out “I can’t” while on an elliptical bike.
Howard captioned under the series of videos, “In the process of being GREAT it’s going to be laughs, frowns, smiles, tears, blood, and sweat but that’s what is needed for us to succeed as individuals and also collectively as a family.”
He continued, “I’m just teaching my kids what it means to be resilient, to be determined and to have discipline. Every day is a battle and some battles are going to be harder to win than others, but we have to fight them until we WIN!And if we WIN the day every day we’ll never lose in the end !”

Concluding his post, he encouraged others, saying, “We have to finish every mission we begin and follow through. That’s the most important part ! Never say you can’t! Remember Philippians 4:13 … YOU CAN and you will! Just follow through. That’s how you be Great.”
While Dwight appears to be a dedicated father, not everyone shares the same perspective. Following the posting of the video series, his ex-partner and mother of one of his five children, Royce Reed, commented:
“Not someone pretending to be a parent for 1 day out of 365 for the cameras. Don’t make thursdays turn into truth Thursday.”
Dwight Howard is the father of five children from five different mothers. He became a father at the age of 22 while playing for the Orlando Magic when he and Reed welcomed their son, Braylon, in 2007. Howard later welcomed his youngest child in 2013.
Although there are rumors of him having more than five kids, Dwight maintains that he has only five children. His children’s names are Braylon, Jayde, Layla, David, and Trey or Dwight III. Melissa Rios, Royce Reed, Christine Vest, Hope Alexa, and Tiffany Render are the respective mothers of his children.
These days, Dwight Howard lives a more modest life with wife Te’a Cooper. The pair got engaged in 2019 and had a secret marriage ceremony in November 2020.
