After months of speculation from fans, reality TV star Shay Johnson has finally revealed the father of her daughter, Shajiyah.
In an Instagram post, Shay shared a family photo of her “love” and their daughter, putting an end to all the rumors and speculation. She wrote, “[Shajiyah] and her dad My Love!!! ”
Johnson further exclaimed. “No more rumors,” Shay added. “New beginnings,” the doting mom hashtagged. “It’s just us now.”
Shay Johnson welcomed her daughter last year. “This is something that I’ve wanted for a long time,” the celebrity mom exclaimed during an interview with BET Lifestyle. “It definitely came unexpectedly, but I’m blessed,” Shay said of her pregnancy.
“Even though I had complications during pregnancy, I am truly blessed,” Johnson shared. “She’s here! She’s healthy! And I’m healthy. That’s all that matters.”
Shay Johnson was not willing to reveal the identity of her daughter’s father immediately after giving birth. “Her father is definitely there. He’s not going anywhere,” Shay said of Shajiyah’s dad. “That’s his little princess,” the entertainer declared.
“He’s a little controlling, but he knows more than I know when it comes to raising a baby,” Shay admitted. “He’s a little more experienced than I am,” she added. “It’s fun and hard at the same time.”
The journey of motherhood has presented highs and lows for Shay Johnson. Still, the television personality wants to have another child in the near future.
“I honestly think I want one more,” Shay told the press. “A boy,” the entertainer exclaimed. “It honestly doesn’t matter, but in the perfect world, I would want a boy,” Shay shared.
“I told Shajiyah’s father that I want one more. He said, ‘Let’s do it in about a year or two.’ I’m like, ‘No, I want one now.’”
Recently, Shajiyah celebrated her first birthday, and Shay took to Instagram to wish her baby girl a happy birthday. In a heartfelt message, she wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY #SweetPea @iamshajiyah @iamshajiyah. She is officially a 1 year old today!! This day changed my life forever.”
Shay went on to describe the overwhelming love she has for her daughter, saying, “Everyone told me about this unconditional love I would experience and I didn’t believe it, but it’s absolutely true. I still look at her to this day and can’t believe I am her mother. @iamShajiyah I’ll continue to be the best mom I can be. I’m so thankful God blessed me with you. Today is your day my love HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I LOVE U.”
