Matt Barnes is reportedly behind in his child support payments to his ex-wife, Gloria Govan. A story published by TMZ reveals the star athlete owes more than $100,000 in past due support.
According to the celebrity news site,
“Matt Barnes is way behind on child support payments … a judge just ordered him to fork over more than six figures in back payments to his ex-wife Gloria Govan.
According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the former NBA baller owes Gloria $133,976.54 in past-due child support payments.”
Matt Barnes requested a reduction in child support payments during the summer of 2018. A judge granted the star athlete’s request by reducing monthly payments from $20,000 to $7,500 per month in December of the same year. Matt reportedly requested another reduction in 2019, which allegedly ended in a mutual settlement.
It has been seven years since Gloria Govan and Matt Barnes finalized their divorce. The former couple’s marriage dissolution came in 2016, which was less than two years after they exchanged nuptials.
Gloria recently scrutinized Matt’s partner, Anansa Sims, for posting pictures that featured her twin sons, Carter and Isaiah, with Barnes. Anansa was attempting to present a harmonious blended family when Gloria called the model out on the alleged deception.
“This is just becoming too much,” Govan shared in an Instagram post addressed to Sims. “I’ve asked before to leave MY kids out of your FALSE narrative,” the celebrity mom said. “Your obsession with MY kids is awkward and crazy! I’ve tolerated it long enough,” Gloria told Anansa. “Your whole super mommy, stepmom, blended family bullsh*t is hilarious. My kids tolerate you because I raised them well,” Govan shared.
“What you and Matt got going on is one thing. But once you continuously and obsessively keep trying to involve MY kids, that becomes [a] whole different story, and now I’ve got to get involved,” Govan wrote to Sims. “I’ve asked you before not to post them. You obviously don’t listen. Now I’m telling you! Cut the sh*t.”
Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan celebrate their sons’ fifteenth birthdays later this year. Barnes has yet to respond to allegations of him owing more than $100,000 in unpaid child support.
