The mother of Davido’s oldest daughter, Imade Aurora Adeleke, is asking for grace after her daughter’s birthday wishes for her dad went South. Sophia Ajibola Momodu took to Instagram with an explanation after her daughter’s social media post raised eyebrows.

Imade gave birthday wishes to her dad on his special day, which was this past Monday (Nov. 21). “Happy birthday, daddy,” the youngster wrote to her father. “I wish you peace, joy, and love,” Imade added. Many took the birthday wishes given by the 7-year-old as simply sweet. A few critics, however, scrutinized the youngster’s photo choice as was a picture that included Davido’s late son.
Sophia took to Instagram on Tuesday (Nov. 22) to offer her apologies for what some deemed as insensitive. “I realize that the earlier post may come across as insensitive and I sincerely apologize as that was not the intention,” Momodu shared.

“Imade deeply loves her father and all her siblings, and as a mother, I’m doing my best to guide her through the difficult emotion of grief from the loss of her brother whilst trying to celebrate her father’s birthday,” Sophia shared with her daughter’s social media followers. “I ask for your consideration and hope that you all can be understanding during these times,” Aurora’s mom petitioned.
Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, passed away due to drowning a few weeks ago. The 3-year-old was with family and friends in Lagos at the time of the incident. His parents left him with loved ones while they traveled for the family business.
“It is true, the child is dead,” Lagos police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed with the press after rumors about Ifeanyi’s death spread online. “About eight people were brought in for questioning and we are investigating the matter,” the spokesperson continued. “Anyone found culpable in the death of the child would be arrested.”
Davido and his fiancèe, Chioma Avril Rowland, welcomed their son in 2019. The celebrity father has three kids in all.
