Kandy and Ronald Isley were in celebration mode this past weekend as their son, Ronald Isley Jr., commemorated his fifteenth birthday. The doting parents took to Instagram with their excitement.

“Happy birthday,” Kandy wrote to Ronald Jr. “We love you,” the celebrity mom exclaimed. Ronald Sr. shared, “Happy Birthday son! I’m so proud of you! You’re a blessing from God and I’m thankful God gave me you! I couldn’t ask for a better son. You are perfect in my eyes! I love you so much!”

Ronald Isley Jr. is Kandy and Ronald Isley Sr.’s only child together. The couple wed in 2005 and welcomed their bundle of joy two years later in 2007.

Many know Ronald Isley Sr. along with his brothers who dominated the music charts during the height of their careers. Many modern-day artists still borrow from The Isley Brothers’ style.

Some have wondered how The Isley Brothers continue to influence the music industry. A lot of artists, especially when you start out, it’s doing that first record, and that’s the breakthrough — but the trick is, what are you going to do the second time or the third time and so on,” Ernie Isley asked during a recent interview with Billboard. “Some people run out of gas,” he added. “But fortunately for us, we’ve been able to go the next rounds.”

Ronald has attributed the group’s ability to “go the next rounds” to their willingness to adapt to culture. “It’s very important to work with the new generation,” he shared with Billboard.

“That’s what keeps you up with the music and what’s going on and what they’re feeling, and you’re writing about feelings, people, and actual things that are happening,” Ronald continued. “It keeps us young and in the business and know where we are going with the business. We’re here to show them the room. Follow the yellow brick road or The Isley Brothers road.”

There is no clear sign that Ronald Jr. will follow The Isley Brothers road by becoming a recording artist like his father. Fans will have to keep following the teen to see what path in life he chooses.
