MEET RON ISLEY’S WIFE, KANDY, AND THEIR ONLY CHILD TOGETHER

The Isley Brother’s battled it out against Earth, Wind & Fire on Easter Sunday’s episode of Verzuz. Now, fans want to learn more about the lead singer of the music group, Ron Isley. Specifically, fans want to know more about the 79 year old’s wife and kids.

Ronald Isley of The Isley Brothers has been married to wife Kandy Johnson for 16 years. Kandy, who is also known as one half of the duo, The Johnson Sisters, was Ron’s background singer when they fell in love.  The couple tied the knot in 2005 in a lavish ceremony in Beverly Hills. Kandy was 28 and Ron was 64 at the time.

Kandy, who is 35 years Ron’s junior, explained in an interview that despite the age disparity that she and her husband have a lot in common.

“[Ron Isley] is a GENTLEMAN! I mean, you’re talking about romance, he puts the ‘R’ in romance… from fine dining to treating a woman like a man should, with respect. As we developed a relationship, we had a lot of things in common and Ronald… even though he’s older, he’s young at heart.”

In 2007, Kandy and Ron welcomed their son named Ron Isley Jr. Sadly, Ronald could not be around for his baby’s birth as he was sentenced to three years and one month in prison for tax evasion. The R&B singer revealed in an interview that while he was incarcerated, he got regular visits from his wife Kandy, son, and daughter from a previous marriage.

He said of his wife, “Oh yeah. She was there four times a week with my baby. It was regular visits from 9am to 3pm and on all the holidays – Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. My daughter and my brother came to visit too. That made it go real fast for me.”

Ronald reportedly has three kids in all: one with Kandy and two with his former wives Margaret Isley and Angela WinBush.
