It was a family affair as Masika Kalysha and her husband, Jamar Champ, attended the First Annual AFRO Awards with their kids. Masika and Jamar brought their infant daughter, Amari Hermes Champ, to the event.

Amari’s first red carpet appearance was an immense success. The little one wore a dress that matched her older sister Khari Barbie’s fashion. In fact, all members of the Champ family wore red.
“My princess slept through her first red carpet appearance,” Masika said of her youngest daughter. “It was so important for me to bring my girls out to see mommy at work for something so positive and pro black,” the Reality TV star said. “I was both the host and an honoree at the 1st annual afro awards this past weekend and having my whole tribe with me was the best part,” Masika shared. “P.S. y’all shoulda seen Khari workin the red carpet on her own,” the celebrity mom mused.

Fans were pleasantly surprised to learn that Masika and her husband welcomed their daughter a few weeks ago. The former Love and Hip Hop (LHH) star managed to hide her expectancy from the public and only shared shots from her maternity photo sessions after she gave birth.
“You hid a whole pregnancy,” one fan said of Masika and Jamar successfully keeping their expectancy a secret. “Like, your circle [is] solid AF ‘cause how this didn’t get leaked,” the social media follower asked. “How Masika hid her pregnancy for nine good whole months still gon’ blow my mind,” another supporter shared.

Masika has made it a point to keep certain aspects of her private life away from the spotlight since leaving the Love and Hip Hop franchise. The recording artist was engaged to her husband for several months before the general public picked up on their intention to get married. Masika and Jamar’s wedding also went under the radar, though more fans knew about the marriage than the Champs’ expectancy of a child.
In many ways, Masika’s pregnancy was a surprise to her. “I had absolutely no clue whatsoever,” the recording artist shared in a social media post. “I was shocked,” she added. “I found out literally at midnight on my husband’s birthday.”

Masika and Jamar learned of their expectancy of a child when she was four months along in her journey. Amari is the couple’s first child. Khari Barbie is Masika’s daughter with rapper Fetty Wap.
