On yesterday’s mid-season finale of Love and Hip Hop: New York (LHHNY), Erica Mena texted Safaree Samuels with an urgent message. The expectant star told her husband that her water had broken and she believed their daughter was on her way.

Safaree was in the middle of performing in New York City when he got the text. The father-to-be rushed out of the venue to call his wife who revealed that she was going into labor.
“I don’t want to go through this by myself,” Erica told her husband. “This is what I was telling you,” she added. “I had a feeling.”

Hearing that Erica’s water broke was all that Safaree needed to cancel the remaining portion of his show. The LHHNY star rushed to get to the airport in an effort to be present for the birth of his daughter. “I cannot miss the birth of my first child,” Safaree said.
Safaree, of course, made it in time to reunite with his wife. The celebrity father has been present to nurture his daughter ever since.

Erica Mena and Safaree welcomed their daughter on February 2, 2020. Erica recently told her Instagram fans that she is taking her time with post-baby weight loss. “Taking my time,” the celebrity mom said. “But I’m coming back super strong,” Erica added.
Many fans praised the LHHNY star for taking her time instead of playing into the notion of a snapback. Some even suggested Erica keep the baby weight. “You look perfect,” one social media fan said. “Don’t lose no more weight,” the Instagram follower added.
