Tia Mowry and her husband, Cory Hardrict, have decided to go their separate ways. The veteran actress filed for divorce on Tuesday (Oct. 4).
Tia took to Instagram to share the news of marriage dissolution. “I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different,” Mowry shared. “I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways,” the actress revealed. “These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness,” Tia told her fans.
“We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children,” Mowry shared with her supporters. “I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family, and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
Court documents reveal Tia’s desire to have joint custody of her and Cory’s kids, Cree and Cairo. The actress does not want spousal support from her estranged husband, nor does Tia desire to pay alimony to Cory. Instead, the actress hopes to have the prenuptial agreement she and her husband signed enforced.
Cory Hardrict and Tia Mowry wed in 2008. The celebrity couple commemorated 14 years of marriage earlier this year with Tia sharing throwback pictures of her and Cory. “You and me since day one,” Mowry wrote to her husband back in June. Many fans cannot grasp what has drastically changed since the summer months.
“What happened between June and October,” one fan asked Tia in the comments section of an Instagram post. “I need to know,” the supporter added. Another of Mowry’s social media followers wrote, “I need y’all to fix this! Pray and pray and pray again. Divorce isn’t it.”
Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict welcomed their son, Cree, three years after their wedding in 2008. The former couple’s daughter, Cairo was born in 2018.
