Nicki Minaj is feeling the sting of not being the favorite parent. The celebrity mom shared a video clip of her son, who she affectionately calls Papa Bear, giving her minimal attention to her all while saving his affection for his dad, Kenneth Petty.
In the clip, Nicki tries to convince her son to turn towards her. The rapper even attempts to bribe her little one with ice cream. Still, Papa Bear remains focused on his father who is outside of the vehicle. “I love you,” Nicki tells her son when he finally turns her way. The youngster does not respond but rather stares at his mom before eventually looking elsewhere. “I said mama loves you,” Nicki reiterated. Papa Bear, again, did not give as much energy to his mom as he previously rendered to his dad.
“When you’re not the fave parent but you got the Barbz to make you feel better,” Nicki told her social media fans after the interaction. “That’s why you still can’t eat ice cream,” the celebrity mom mused.
Papa Bear is Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty’s first child together. The ‘Super Freaky Girl’ rapper recently shared how motherhood has changed her in all the right ways.
“I think motherhood has made me see more good in people, see more good in the universe,” the award-winning artist told James Corden of The Late Late Show with James Corden. “It makes you a little bit more of a forgiving person,” Nicki added.
“When I look at my son, I’m reminded that I am so blessed,” the rapper shared. “I realized, for so many women, this is their dream. Their dream is to have a child and not everybody gets that blessing. So when you have a little baby, you are reminded every day like, ‘Oh my God. Thank you, God, for this little gift.'”
Papa Bear celebrates his second birthday later this month.
