Draymond Green and Hazel Renee tied the matrimonial knot in front of their kids and family friends this month. The star athlete and his sweetheart enjoyed a beautiful ceremony at Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego, California.
“Our engagement was the most over-the-top, sweetest thing that someone has ever done to express their love for me,” Hazel tells Vogue of Draymond’s engagement surprise. “I thought we were just doing a city tour with the kids and then dinner,” she added.
“However, the helicopter started to hover over water and lower down. Voilà! We then landed onto a boat,” Hazel shares. Draymond made certain his then-girlfriend’s closest friends were waiting on the boat when they arrived. “I had no idea what was going on,” the producer reveals. “He walked me over to a beautiful bed of flowers that covered a Jacuzzi in front of all of our loved ones, and he got on one knee and proposed—it was something out of a movie, for sure.”
Hazel Renee and Draymond Green planned to get married months after he proposed marriage in 2019. The coronavirus pandemic and the birth of their daughter, Cash, pushed things back.
“I just knew that all would fall into place the way it should,” Hazel tells the press. “I honestly felt like we woke up one day and said, ‘This year would be great for our wedding,'” she continues. “Everyone kept telling me, ‘You seem so relaxed and not like a bridezilla!'”
Hazel was calm about the planning and surprised at how quickly the ceremony went. “Everything happened so fast,” the producer exclaims. “When people kept telling me it would be over quick, boy, were they right,” Hazel adds. “It was like a whirlwind of dreams, laughter, and nonstop dancing.”
Hazel Renee and Draymond Green have three kids – Kyla, Draymond, and Cash – together.
