Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are expecting another child! The cookbook author took to social media on Wednesday (Aug. 3) to announce her pregnancy.
“The last few years have been a blur of emotions, to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” Chrissy told her social media fans. “One billion shots later (in the leg lately, as you can see!) we have another on the way,” Teigen shared with her supporters.
“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘Ok, if it’s healthy today I’ll announce.’ But then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok, phew, it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have been on a journey for another child for the past few months. The couple decided to expand their family last year after suffering a miscarriage in 2020. Chrissy and John were well into their expectancy when their son, Jack, was stillborn. The couple held a memorial service for their late son near the one-year anniversary of his death.
“Took me a year but finally honored his little spirit with some blessings today,” Chrissy shared with her fans at the time. “Hopefully, some closure in my heart will happen now,” the celebrity mom continued. “Thank you guys for the kind words,” Teigen wrote to her fans. “It’s a process.”
Both John Legend and Chrissy Teigen expressed a desire to have another child last year. In fact, John revealed that his wife had begun IVF treatments for baby number four. “I can’t imagine a life without [my children] – I just cannot,” Chrissy told PEOPLE during an interview last year. “And I can’t imagine a life without more, honestly, so we’ll see,” the celebrity mom exclaimed.
