For Ciara, the day was about more than tennis. She said bringing Sienna to events like the US Open gives her tween a chance to see women who have made their mark in sports.

“It’s so important, and I think whenever we get a chance to come out and celebrate the girls, the girls that are paving the way for girls like my daughter, you know, like Naomi Osaka, obviously Coco Gauff, and she’s such a young phenom,” Ciara said in an interview.

“I’m so excited for her journey, and then obviously girls that have paved the way before those women, like Venus and Serena. It’s so meaningful for so many reasons, and I always will support the girls whenever I can.”

Sienna also chimed in on who she thinks is the most athletic in the family.

“I’m the most athletic, other than my dad,” she said, referring to Russell Wilson.

Ciara, meanwhile, admitted that tennis is not exactly her strongest sport, but she has plenty of confidence when it comes to pickleball.

“I would say the tennis people laugh at me. But can I play tennis if I tried? Yeah. I think I need to really get into it, but in the interim I can definitely dominate in pickleball.”
