Riley Burruss is loving her life as a college student at New York University (NYU). The young adult’s mother, Kandi Burruss, recently gave Bravo fans an update on her oldest daughter’s adjusting to life as a grown up.
“She’s loving it,” Kandi said of Riley’s collegiate experience. “Yes, for sure [she wants to be a lawyer],” Burruss added. “But then, like, she’ll say one minute, ‘Yeah, I want to be an influencer.’ But you never post [on Instagram]. Like, what are you talking about? I don’t get it,” the celebrity mom shared. “So I tell her to stick to the books, sis. She has to figure out whatever her [thing] is gonna be.”
Riley Burruss began her career as an undergraduate student at New York University in 2020. It was during that time that the world was still reeling from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Thus, Riley was forced to begin her Freshman year from home with online classes. Riley gave an update about how life was treating her as a college kid during a conversation on her mom’s YouTube series, Speak On It last year.
“Transitioning, first of all, to a different state and then, going to online school,” Riley revealed. “Transitioning to college life is already hard but having to do it online is even worse,” the young scholar said.
Kandi did not doubt the difficulties Riley faced. The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star did, however, scrutinize her daughter’s study habits, which Kandi believed deserved improvement going forward.
“[Parents] don’t understand even that normal [phase] when you go from home life to all the way in college in your own space, they already don’t understand that,” Riley said in response to her mom’s criticism. “They don’t understand,” the young scholar reiterated. “So it’s just kind of like, ‘Well, you don’t understand what I’m going through and you’re expecting me to be top tier.'”
Riley is Kandi Burruss’ oldest child. The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star has three kids – Riley, Ace, and Blaze – in all.
