Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, this past weekend. Lilibet received lots of birthday love from her parents and distant relatives on her special day.
Lilibet’s grandfather – Charles, the Prince of Wales – took to Instagram to give well wishes to his granddaughter. “Wishing Lilibet a very happy 1st birthday today,” the prince shared. Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, also sent Lilibet warm wishes on her special day.
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021. The little one joined her older brother, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, at home.

“On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili,” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said in a statement released after their daughter’s birth last year. “She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe,” the celebrity couple shared. “Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to name Lilibet after his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, which many viewed as a sort of peace offering. It was back in April 2021, after all, that Prince Harry decided to leave the Royal Family for a more quiet life in California with his wife and son.
“It’s been unbelievably tough for the two of us but at least we had each other,” Prince Harry told Oprah of the transition during an interview one month after he and Meghan exited the United Kingdom. The Duke of Sussex also discussed the tragic death of his mom, Princess Diana, who died in a car accident in 1997 after being chased by the paparazzi. Prince Harry revealed that he feared a similar outcome for his wife due to the British tabloids’ constant scrutiny of his wife.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now reside in Ventura County.
