Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their son Archie’s second birthday with a picture and the launch of a COVID vaccine fundraiser. The Duch and Duchess of Sussex shared with their social media fans on Thursday (May 6).
Harry and Meghan uploaded a candid of their son with his back towards the camera. Archie appeared captivated by the balloons meant to celebrate his birthday. The 2-year-old looked up at the arrangement as his mom and dad took the picture.
“We have been deeply touched over the past two years to feel the warmth and support for our family in honor of Archie’s birthday,” Meghan and Harry told their social media fans. “Many of you donate to charities on his behalf and mark the occasion by giving back or doing an act of service—all through the goodness of your hearts,” the celebrity parents said. “You raise funds for those who need it most and continue to do so organically and selflessly. We remain incredibly grateful.”
In honor of their son’s birthday, and in the spirit of charity, the Duch and Duchess of Sussex invited their supporters to donate $5 to their latest campaign. Harry and Meghan partnered with Global Citizens for its Vax Line COVID-19 Vaccine Equity Campaign, which aims to bring vaccines to impoverished regions of the world. All who donate $5 to Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, will have their contributions matched by the Mastercard Impact Fund, the Seadream Family Foundation, and a third organization to bring the total donation to $20.
“We cannot think of a more resonant way to honor our son’s birthday,” Meghan and Harry told their social media fans. “If we all show up, with compassion for those we both know and don’t know, we can have a profound impact,” the celebrity couple said. “Even a small contribution can have a ripple effect. Together, we can uplift, protect, and care for one another.”
