April 18, 2022 marked the return of the White House Easter Roll! And everyone could not be happier, including Ciara, Russell Wilson, and their kids as the Wilson family had the opportunity to enjoy some “Easter fun” at the White House.
The last time that there were eggs on the White House lawn was 2019 as a result of the world-wide COVID-19 pandemic. Although there was a little rain, the President, First Lady, nor the Wilson’s and other guests were deterred from the call of the long-awaited traditional fun.
“This year, we’re finally getting together again, and it’s so special,” Mr. Biden said from the White House balcony, flanked by the first lady and the Easter bunny. “It means so much to see and hear the children and all the families show up to be here today.”
In addition to Ciara, Russell, and their children, there were about 30,000 people who were issued tickets through a public lottery to attend the events during time slots that started at 7:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
Several members of the Biden family attended the event as well, including the President’s 2-year-old grandson, who was a little “startled” at presence of the giant Easter bunny.
After greeting guests, President Biden performed his first official duty of the day: blowing the ceremonial whistle to start the Egg Roll race.
There were several interactive educational-themed stations around the White House lawn for children to partake in. At one station, the children were able to learn about the life cycle of an egg. At another, there was a cooking demonstration, and at another, children searched for some 100,000 hand-painted eggs, donated by farmers with the American Egg Board.
However, this was the second big Easter event for the Wilson’s. On Sunday, the family celebrated Easter with their own Easter-egg hunt, bounce house fun, and family photos.
Both Ciara and Wilson took to social media to share well-wishes to all for the day, expressing both, “Happy Easter! Love the Wilson’s” and “Thank YOU JESUS for your Ultimate Sacrifice! Easter Love from the Wilson’s!”
