Playboi Carti is focused on his music and keeping a harmonious relationship with his son’s mother. The rapper called Iggy Azalea a great mom during a recent interview with XXL magazine.
“I’m a father. You know what I’m saying,” Playboi asked. “You know how it is having kids. I just got responsibilities. I pay a lot of bills. I take care of a lot of people,” the rapper added. “I take care of my mom. I take care of my family. I take care of my baby mom [and] I take care of my son. There’s a lot of people I take care of. So, it’s like, I gotta keep doing it.”
After the interview went viral online, Iggy Azalea took to Twitter to respond to Playboi Carti’s comments.
She wrote, “You’ve been mislead. I don’t F$%^ with a man I’m not even remotely on good terms with claiming he pays my bills. I pay bills. Secondly saying nice things for an interview sounds great but in real life he talks to me like S&*^ so badly i had to stop all direct contact.”
Adding, “His team has been calling about the interview hoping for my slilence because they know what my reaction would be. I do appreciate being called a great mom but when that’s not reflective of what he has to say in real life, I’d much rather be left out of being mentioned at all. And I’, sure after this, I will be. Eveyone wins!”
Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea welcomed their son last year. Iggy and Playboi did not make an official announcement regarding their expectancy but, nevertheless, confirmed the rumors when they were ready.
“His birthday is coming up in three weeks,” Playboi Carti said of his son with Iggy Azalea. “I got him a crazy chain, too,” the rapper told XXL. “He’s going to be a problem,” Playboi doted. That’s who you need on the next cover,” the recording artist told the magazine. “He’s beautiful. And Iggy, she’s a great mom. I love her to death.”
Iggy Azalea confirmed that she was indeed single a few months back. Playboi Carti agreed that he was not in a relationship. “I’m single. She’s single now. But that’s one of the best mothers in the world,” Playboi said during his recent interview with XXL. “That’s what you got to put in the book, you hear me,” he added. “I love her to death. She is the best mother in the world.”
There is much that Playboi Carti has planned when it comes to his career as a recording artist. The rapper is doing everything with a spirit of gratitude.
“I just wake up and smile. There’s no reason to be mad. I’m blessed,” Playboi shared with the press. “So, I just stay in the studio. Anything that I go through, I just put into music. That will never change,” he added. “I was about to name my album Music because that’s where I’m at, you know what I’m saying? Music.”
