Kelly Rowland was all about charity as she recently partnered with Baby2Baby to give to families in need. The celebrity mom helped provide groceries, diapers, and other essentials at a B2B Safe Distribution center this past weekend.
Vons and Albertsons worked alongside Baby2Baby and the ‘Motivation’ singer to make the event a success. “I’m always proud to be a @Baby2Baby Board Member, but days like today are what it’s all about,” Kelly told her social media fans on Saturday (Mar. 19). “Shout out to @Vons and @Albertsons for making our B2B Safe Distribution possible and helping us provide groceries, diapers, clothing, backpacks, school supplies, hygiene items, and a vaccination clinic to families still impacted by the pandemic,” Rowland shared.
Baby2Baby, run by Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein, is a lifeline for many kids who lack the basic necessities needed to enjoy sustainable lives. The organization makes it a point to reach out to underserved children as well as kids who have lost everything in the wake of a disaster with food, hygiene products, and school supplies that would otherwise be out of reach. Kelly joined the board of Baby2Baby several years back to help the nonprofit reach more individuals in need.
“I got involved with Baby2Baby actually when I became pregnant,” the recording artist shared during a 2019 interview with Hello Giggles. “I remember meeting Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Jessica Alba [at the gym] when I was on the treadmill, and they were on the treadmill,” Kelly recalled. “Jessica’s like, ‘People [and brands] are going to send you a lot of [free stuff because you’re pregnant] … And some of those things you won’t use, and the things you won’t use, there are mothers and babies who need them.’ It was immediately knowing that I have to make sure that my mommies and babies in the L.A. area are okay.”
Kelly Rowland went on to talk about the impromptu meet-up by praising Jessica Alba’s selflessness. “She started telling me about Baby2Baby and I was like, ‘Oh, my God. I would love to know more about it,’ and she sent me all the information,” Rowland said of Alba serving as the liaison between her and B2B.
“I went to the Baby2Baby gala, and I looked at my husband and I was like, ‘We’re here every year. We need to figure out what else we need to do, and who else we need to tell about it.’ I became a Baby2Baby angel. I let everybody know about it. It’s just one of my favorite organizations.”
