Alicia Keys is celebrating her forty-first birthday with her husband, Swizz Beatz, and kids. The celebrity mom took to Instagram on Tuesday (Jan. 25) to express gratitude for another year and the surprise party that her family gave to commemorate the special occasion.
“It’s my birthday,” Alicia exclaimed. “I’m so grateful to be alive,” the recording artist added. “Thank you to every single person who surprised me last night plotting along with the masterful surpriser my KING @therealswizzz,” Keys wrote online in reference to the surprise party Swizz Beatz orchestrated for his wife.
“You made me so happy,” Alicia said of the event. “All day yesterday I had no idea what was happening or coming. Now I REALLY don’t know what to expect,” the celebrity continued. “I know one thing, I’m celebrating every second cause life is too precious to be wasting time!”
Alicia Keys has embraced self-care with extra intention these past few months. The celebrity mom partnered with E.l.f. Beauty to introduce a new business venture called Keys Soulcare in 2020 that encourages individuals to take time for themselves through skincare and candle therapy.
“Wellness is a key component of soul care. But when I think about the core values of Keys Soulcare, [their] inclusivity, empowerment and this deeper view of beauty; it’s more than just wellness,” Tarang Amin, E.l.f. Beauty CEO, shared with the press. “The aspect of bringing a broader community in on a mind-body-spirit connection [conversation] is broader than wellness, even though wellness is a critical component of it,” Amin added.
It was just last year that Alicia Keys celebrated life as an independent artist after releasing her album KEYS, which fulfilled her contract with Sony. The agreement spanned 20 years.
“It is an invitation for all of us to show up to ourselves and not hold back any part of ourselves,” Alicia said of her new album. “I think a lot of us oftentimes feel like we have to dim it down and small it down,” the celebrity explained. “No, I refuse it anymore. I invite us all to refuse it because there’s a power and a special energy that we all have.”
Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz have two kids, Egypt and Genesis, together. Swizz Beatz fathers five kids in all.
