Ray J celebrated his forty-first birthday on Monday (Jan. 17) with an Instagram post that expressed gratitude for his family and friends. The entrepreneur gave a fresh commitment to fatherhood in his moving message.
“Please God bless me with extreme focus this year,” Ray wrote in his Instagram post. “I have to make some life-changing decisions and I wanna do the right thing,” the celebrity father said. “Thank you for blessing me to arrive here today,” Ray wrote on his birthday. “Thank you for my family and real friends,” the entrepreneur continued. “Thank you for my success and failures,” Ray added. “Being the best father for my kids is what I’m looking forward to.”

Ray J has two kids, Epik Ray and Melody Love, with his wife, Princess Love. The ‘One Wish’ singer filed to divorce his wife of five years last fall after working with his spouse to avert marriage dissolution. Princess Love initially filed to divorce Ray J in May 2020, which was several months after she accused her husband of abandoning her and their daughter, Melody, in Las Vegas. Princess was pregnant with her and Ray’s son, Epik, at the time.
Ray J recently shared his desire to stay with his wife during an interview with The Breakfast Club. “Thanks to God it was a 360-turnaround,” Ray said of his relationship with his wife at the time. The celebrity moved his family to Miami from Los Angeles, which he believed contributed to more positive communication.
“It turned into something that was working,” Ray shared. The celebrity father went on to tell the talk show hosts, “I love my wife. I don’t wanna be with nobody else.”

Ray J and Princess Love wed in 2016. The celebrities are still in the beginning stages of marriage dissolution. Ray and Princess will celebrate their daughter’s fourth birthday in May. The celebrity parents’ son, Epik, commemorated his second birthday last month.
