“We are excited and honored to celebrate 15 years of Disney Dreamers Academy with this year’s class,” Tracey D. Powell, Walt Disney World Resort Vice President, said in a statement. “We’ve embraced this opportunity to amplify the event, and we’re thrilled to introduce new experiences, new career programs, and new mentors,” Powell shared.

The Disney Dreamers Academy launched in 2008 and has, to date, inspired upwards of 1,300 students to pursue the highest heights in both education and career ambitions. Many of the mentorees in the program have moved on to work for large corporations where they hold significant roles.

Several celebrities have participated as mentors in the Dreamers Academy throughout the years. Steve Harvey, in particular, has given significant support to the program.

“I know from personal experience that big dreams lead to big success,” Harvey shared at the start of Dreamers Academy 2020. “Disney understands that concept better than any other company and that is why I partner with them every year on this program to encourage big dreams for the next generation,” the entertainer shared.

Disney Dreamers Academy was cut short in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the abrupt closing of Disney World for a period. Travel restrictions and other measures led to the program going online for the remainder of 2020 and during the 2021 session. This year will mark the first time since 2019 that the entire academy will be held in person for participants. This will also be the fifteenth year of the Disney Dreamers Academy program.

Princeton Parker, who graduated from Dreamers Academy in 2011, will serve as a speaker during this year’s session. The rising star is presently a Disney cast member. This year’s academy begins on March 3, 2022, and ends on March 6, 2022, with a commencement ceremony.
