The Christmas Princess, co-written with Michaela Angela Davis and illustrated by Fuuji Takashi, centers around a younger Mariah Carey who has the simple request of enjoying a peaceful holiday season that is also filled with joy. Little Mariah sets out on a journey to find peace on Earth and ultimately discovers the power of her voice.

The Christmas Princess springs from the same need as my memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey — to emancipate the little girl in me,” Mariah shares with the press about her forthcoming children’s book. “Little Mariah represents my inner child believing in her own vision,” Carey continues.

“She represents all children, especially those who feel like outsiders or ‘others’, striving to believe in themselves,” the award-winning artist adds. “It is for all children of all ages,” Carey says of her book. “It was empowering to transform my childhood turmoil into a modern classic fairytale full of wonder and boundless hope.”

Mariah Carey is widely recognized as the queen of Christmas. It is little wonder, therefore, that the celebrity would make her new children’s book center around the holiday.

“I don’t do years,” Mariah recently revealed during an interview in which she gave her best advice about holiday gatherings. “I live Christmastime to Christmastime,” Carey shared with the press.

The Christmas Princess was created to brighten the lives of those who read the story. “So many of us have been drowning in ‘bleakocity’ for the last year and a half,” Carey says in her statement regarding her forthcoming book. “Why not create an enchanted land to escape to,” the celebrity asks.

The Christmas Princess is expected to make its debut this fall, which will be just in time for Christmas 2022!
