Candace Parker is teaching her daughter, Lailaa Nicole Williams, about the importance of having good finances. The celebrity mom recently joined her “mini-me” in promoting Capital One.
“I’ll admit, I was guilty of using Lailaa’s socks as dog toys,” Candace told her social media followers on Monday (Jan. 10). “She wasn’t happy with the idea of me sacrificing her socks to the dogs, so she asked me to get them REAL toys,” Candace shared.
“I used this as an opportunity to teach Lailaa the skill of setting aside money and tracking her finances, so she could buy new dog toys herself,” Parker said of the lesson she taught her daughter about finances. “We set up a system where each time she did a chore around the house, I rewarded her with money which we tracked in the MONEY Teen Checking App by @CapitalOne,” the celebrity mom said.
“Using the app, I get to track Lailaa’s spending, she gets the freedom to learn about finances, and the dogs get to play with real toys instead of her socks. Everyone wins!”
Lailaa Williams is Candace Parker’s daughter with Sheldon Williams. The youngster will soon be a big sister as Candace and her wife, Anna Petrakova, are expecting their first child together. Candace took to Instagram last month to celebrate her wedding anniversary and to also announce her family’s expansion.
“Happy Anniversary Моя жена,” Candace wrote online. “Two years ago, I got to marry my best friend in front of our close family and friends,” Parker shared. “My heart could have exploded. I cried like a baby,” Parker told her supporters. “To know me or you is to know our love,” the celebrity mom further explained.
“This journey hasn’t been easy,” Candace admitted. “I am proud of us and what we have built and who we have grown to become both individually and together.”
Lailaa Williams celebrates her thirteenth birthday this year. Candace Parker and Anna Petrakova are also expecting their first child together to arrive later this year.
