If you have been waiting for a peek at the second installment of the Sonic The Hedgehog story, wait no longer! The first look Sonic The Hedgehog 2 trailer recently debuted during The Game Awards and we cannot wait until April 2022.
So just what can fans expect from this follow-up to Sonic The Hedgehog’s story? Take a look below at a brief synopsis.
After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is the sequel to the 2020 live-action feature film Sonic the Hedgehog. In the sequel, Colleen O’Shaughnessey joins the upcoming movie as the voice of Tails. Idris Elba is set to voice Knuckles. Elba assured fans in a recent interview with ScreenRant that he wouldn’t voice his character as a “sexy” one.
“Honestly, I cannot say. Contractually, I cannot say anything. But I wouldn’t say he was sexy. I don’t think I’m going for that. That’s for sure,” Elba told the popular news outlet.

Idris Elba isn’t the only star power that will voice the upcoming sequel. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will also star Tika Sumpter, Shemar Moore, Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Natasha Rothwell, and Adam Pally.
If you aren’t familiar with Sonic The Hedgehog, he and his motley crew started out as a Japanese video game series created and owned by Sega before they hit the big screen. The franchise follows Sonic, an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who battles the evil Doctor Eggman, a mad scientist. The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise also incorporates printed media, animations, and merchandise.
