Wiz Khalifa and his son, Sebastian “Bash” Thomaz, were two of many to attend the premiere of Sonic the Hedgehog earlier this week. The father-son duo appeared excited to attend the film’s screening.

“[The] Sonic premiere was fun,” Wiz Khalifa told his social media fans after the event concluded. The celebrity father also uploaded a picture of his son taking pictures on the blue carpet. Sebastian held his father’s hand in one shot while smiling from ear to ear. “Coolest kid ever,” one fan said of Bash’s relaxed demeanor. “He’s getting so big,” another social media follower commented. Sebastian is growing by leaps and bounds, isn’t he?

Perhaps, Wiz Khalifa’s son had something to do with the rapper’s new music video for the single, ‘Speed Me Up.’ The song serves as the theme for the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie, and the music video offers all sorts of fun and adventure. Wiz starts out on the sofa but ends up in the game. The rapper is joined by Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child who also find their way into the digital world of Sonic.

The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film gives millennials major nostalgia. Many remember the video game that captivated players for hours at a time. A Sonic weekend was a good means of indoor entertainment during the 90s. Wiz Khalifa’s new music video does a good job of capturing the spirit of the era.

It was during a recent interview with Acclaim magazine that Wiz Khalifa explained his creative process with respect to albums and mixtapes. “The process is a little different,” Wiz revealed. “When we are making the album, we have to think about songs that have to have videos and have to have budgets and things like that,” the rapper explained.

“Just a lot more goes into it,” Wiz continued. “The songs have to last, whereas the mixtape is kinda like a hit or miss. If the song gets big or turns crazy then it’s good. If not, no time and nothing is wasted. So that’s really the difference, with a mixtape there’s more risk than with an album.”

Sonic the Hedgehog comes to theaters this Friday (February 14). Stay tuned for more celebrity father news!
