Yandy Smith is a driving force behind her oldest daughter’s success. The Love and Hip Hop: New York (LHHNY) star recently shared a promotional Instagram post in support of Alfred E. Nickson that also served as an update for fans interested to learn how Infinity is adjusting to her life as a young adult.
“I Took this lil mama with me to my business expo this weekend,” Yandy Smith told her social media fans. “[I am] constantly teaching her about diversifying her portfolio and generating income from all sides. Financial planning is important,” Yandy shared. “Infinity is working and constantly figuring out what her empire is going to be. I’m proud of her. Now it’s time to build her credit up,” the LHHNY star wrote in her promotional post.
Some accused Yandy Smith of using Infinity as a storyline. The allegations grew even further following an episode segment in which Yandy and her husband, Mendeecees, revealed their plans to help Infinity move out of the family home. The young adult was not on board with the decision.
“I just think that for me, living on my own … I think that’s not something I’m ready for,” Infinity told Yandy and Mendeecees. “I’m not ready to be isolated,” the young adult said. “For ya’ll it feels like you’re helping me, but for me, it’s showing up as life,” Infinity explained. “I feel like my biological mom is putting me right back out. I’m just not ready for it.”
Many who watched the segment gave support to Infinity whom Yandy adopted a few years ago. Some even went so far as to attack Yandy and her husband on social media. Mendeecees responded to the backlash with a video post.
“Enough,” Mendeecees said. “That conversation took an hour-long, and how it was edited to two minutes,” the celebrity father shared. “From the two minutes ya’ll get to see, it was very sad. It was sad what transpired out of that conversation,” Mendeecees explained. “I was trying to figure out a solution … nobody tried to be mean,” the celebrity father added. “I’m not cold-hearted,” Mendeecees told his supporters and critics. “I do have compassion.”
Yandy Smith and Mendeecees have two kids, Skylar and Omare, together. December marks two years since Yandy Smith’s adoption of Infinity was made official.
