Ice-T is in defense mode after online critics scrutinized his wife, Coco Austin, for letting their 5-year-old daughter, Chanel Nicole, wear acrylic nails for Picture Day at school. The Law and Order: Special Victims Unit star recently addressed the uproar during an appearance on The View.
“Rule 1: Do not pay attention to anything anyone says on the Internet,” Ice-T said of the criticism. “Worry about the people who walk up to you and say things in your real life,” the celebrity father said. “Those are the people you should be concerned with. The internet is the world. It’s the world talking.”
Coco Austin took to Instagram last month to share her daughter’s style ahead of Chanel’s Picture Day at school. Acrylic nails with French Tips were included in Chanel’s school outfit. “School Picture day,” Coco told her social media fans. “For the special occasion, I let Chanel do mini tips to her nails,” the celebrity mom said. “I love doing her hair,” Coco continued. “My little doll baby is what I call her.”
Many loved Chanel Nicole’s school attire. Some, however, criticized the little one’s mom for letting her have acrylic nails. “How are you still breastfeeding, but she has on a full set of french tips,” one critic asked in reference to Coco Austin’s decision to continue nursing Chanel as a way to bond with her daughter. “Breastfeeding and tips,” another fan mused.
Some defended Coco Austin’s decision to let her daughter have acrylic nails for Picture Day. “Just here to remind everyone it cost $0.00 to mind ya d*mn business if you don’t agree with someone else’s parenting lifestyle,” one supporter said. “Best comment,” another fan wrote in reply to Coco’s defender.

Ice-T also addressed those who chose to critique Coco Austin’s latest rearing decision. “Everybody parents differently,” the celebrity father told the co-hosts of The View. “Every house has its own constitution,” Ice-T shared. “We’re doing okay. Our baby’s okay.”
Chanel Nicole is Ice-T and Coco Austin’s only child together. She celebrates her sixth birthday next month. Ice-T has three kids – Chanel, Tracy Jr., and Letesha – in all.
