9-YEAR-OLD OPERA SINGER VICTORY BRINKER MAKES HISTORY ON ‘AGT’

"I Was Not Expecting That"

Remember the name Victory Brinker. The 9-year-old made history during Tuesday (July 6) night’s episode of America’s Got Talent (AGT). Victory received Golden Buzzers from all of the judges and the show’s host, Terry Crews, which is something that has not happened in the history of the talent contest.

Victory attended the audition segment with her mom who expressed excitement about her daughter’s accomplishments up to the point of Victory’s big moment in front of the judges.

“Victory sings morning, noon, and night,” Brinker’s mom said. “But there’s nothing more touching, as a parent, than to see your child do what they love to do,” the doting parent added.

“All these years Victory’s been saying, ‘I want to sing on AGT. I want to sing for the judges.’ She’s just this little girl, but I had no doubt she was going to give it her all. And here she is: nine years old and it’s happening,” Victory’s gushed before her daughter’s audition segment. “I am beyond proud of Victory, and I hope that all of her dreams come true.”

Victory told viewers about her passion for singing during the interview segment before her singing session in front of the judges. “When I’m singing, it makes me feel happy, happy, and happy,” the youngster said. Nothing that little Victory could have told the judges or viewers, however, could have prepared the audience for what the youngster delivered when her time to shine came.

Brinker admitted to Simon Cowell that she was “exnervous,” which, by her definition, was a mixture of nervousness and excitement. All of Victory’s anxiety, however, appeared to melt away the moment the youngster started to sing “Juliet’s Waltz,” from Romeo et Juliette.

Victory exhibited vocal abilities beyond her years that left all of the judges in awe. “I was not expecting that,” Howie Mandel said after Victory’s audition. “You’re angelic,” he added. “I loved it.”

Simon Cowell played a bit of a trick on Victory by telling the youngster they were not going to give her a pass to the next round of the competition. The judge then told the 9-year-old that he and the other judges were joining with Terry Crews to give Victory gold marks across the board.

Victory’s five-person Golden Buzzer moment means that she will go straight to the live competition. Catch America’s Got Talent every week on NBC.
