The Senator posted on Twitter, “Great to visit the International High School of New Orleans and chat with Jada Jerrelle Brown, who received over 141 college offers. She is a future leader for her community and has made Louisiana proud!”
“Never give up,” Brown said. “Never let anybody’s opinions on you dictate your life. So don’t let anyone’s opinions control what you do in life, just do it for you. This is your life. Live it and don’t give up.”
Brown goes on to say in the interview that she is “…very happy, blessed, thankful. I was a little overwhelmed but now I’m good.”
The teen admitted that she didn’t even know that there were 141 colleges and universities that were available for her to choose from. Many of the colleges and universities were in locations that were unfamiliar to her as she opened folders with acceptance letters and details enclosed.
And yes, when we said that Brown has made history with her amazing achievement, we do mean that she has made history.
