Kyla-Drew is not only an actress, but she is also a child prodigy. The 16-year-old sat down with the hosts of More Hustle and shares her secrets of success in her first podcast interview.
You may remember Kyla-Drew from her stint on the hit Nickelodeon show, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn. Or, you may be looking forward to seeing her on the upcoming Netflix series, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me. Either way, we know that Kyla-Drew is one phenomenal actress, but what you may not know is that this talented teen is a child prodigy.
Kyla-Drew graduated high school at 15-years-old and was accepted to USC. She started off college as a second-semester sophomore as she transferred in with 56 units.
So just how does she do it all?
“I have the mindset that there’s 24 hours in a day,” Kyla said in her podcast interview. “If I balance my time right then I can do it. I take morning classes – I always have an 8am class – then I’ve got work, which takes up a big part of my day, but then I do evening classes. Sometimes it is a struggle, it is difficult, but I make it work because I know at the end I’ll look back and be like ‘whew, I did it.’”
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Kyla-Drew’s goal is to make sure that young girls of color know that they can do any and everything that they set their minds to. The sky isn’t the limit. I can be just the beginning.
Listen to Kyla-Drew’s entire podcast interview with hosts Brian Calle and Neferteri Plessy. You will unquestionably be more impressed with her than you already were. And of course, make sure to check-out Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, now streaming on Netflix.
