Shaunie O’Neal, the ex-wife of NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal, recently celebrated their kids with a couple of sweet messages in honor of National Daughters and National Sons Day.
Shaq and Shaunie O’Neal share five children together: daughters 18-year-old Amirah and 14-year-old Me’arah O’Neal, and sons 20-year-old Shareef and 17-year-old Shaqir O’Neal. Shaunie also has a son, 23-year-old Myles O’Neal from a previous relationship. Shaunie loves her children dearly and showed it with heartfelt Instagram posts.
For National Daughters Day on September 25, Shaunie posted a fierce picture of herself and her girls, captioning the post: “Happy National Daughter’s Day!!! I will forever protect you, have your backs, and love you beyond this lifetime! My Babies Forever! #Amirah & #MeArah.”
For National Sons Day on September 28, Shaunie posted a series of sweet photos of her with her boys and captioned the post: “I birthed 3 Kings, and I am proud to call each one of them SON! Mommy loves you @mylesboneal @shareefoneal & @shaqironeall #NationalSonsDay 💙💙💙 #MyProtectors #MyLoves.”
Shaunie O’Neal indeed has much to be proud of her children for, as Shareef and Amirah headed off to college, attending their esteemed father’s alma mater, LSU. Shaunie dropped them off at college in August and shared in an Instagram post how bittersweet it was.
“Wheeeeew so I’ve been struggling this last week. I had to drop 2 of my heartbeats❤️ off at college, and honestly, I’ve had to stop myself from going back and moving in with them (Ok I know that’s extreme), but I’m just concerned with so much going on,” wrote Shaunie. “I know God has all of our children covered, but this is tough. I’ve read every article from @nytimes to @usatoday on how to prepare for the drop-off, but I miss my babies. Parents, how are you coping with dropping your kids off at college? #concernedmom #helpasistaout #prayforme #sendmetips #kidsofftocollege.”
