Jaleel White commemorated his daughter Samaya White’s eleventh birthday with balloons and water guns. The actor shared pictures from the at-home event with his social media fans.
“To count how many of my coolest memories revolve around this young queen is the understatement of my existence,” Jaleel told his Instagram followers. “I cried uncontrollably when you entered this world 11 years ago, Samaya, and I made a couple of promises to you then,” White said.
“One, I would not feed you the lies society begins teaching our children at a very young age,” the celebrity father said. “Your future is not your parents’ past,” White continued. “Two, I would make sure you were better than me in every way imaginable. Sharper, smarter, and faster. I thank your spirit for choosing me to be your Dad. #girldad. A big sparkling cider cheers to your 11th Birthday.”
Samaya is Jaleel White’s only child. Many still have to adjust to the celebrity father as such after growing up with Jaleel as Steve Urkel, and later Stefan Urquelle, on Family Matters.
“Stefan Urquelle and Steve Urkel, that’s my Mickey Mouse,” White said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “If you go to talk to Disney about anything related to Mickey Mouse, if you can even get the meeting, you’re going to get 50 people in that room,” the actor added. “That is the crown jewel of their brand, and so they protect it. And so for better or worse, the crown jewel of my legacy still remains Steve Urkel and Stefan Urquelle.”
