Alicia Keys and her family are in high spirits during this quarantine experience. The ‘We Are Here’ singer told all in a new interview with Oprah Winfrey for Super Soul Sunday.
“We’re keeping our spirits high,” Alicia told Oprah. “Doing walks, bike rides, scooter rides, and Monopoly…endless nights of Monopoly,” she added. “And we’re reading every day, working out, we’re doing sit ups…even Genesis is trying to get his six-pack poppin’,” the celebrity mom said.
The coronavirus pandemic has New York on lockdown as million of residents are strongly advised to remain indoors. Alicia Keys and her family are making the most of the situation by reconnecting with one another and working through the rough spots.
“We are seeing that we are good together,” the celebrity mom told Oprah. “We have a good flow together, which could become difficult when you’re always in close quarters,” Alicia shared. “Sometimes the things that you haven’t worked through could come out,” the recording artist admitted. “But we’re feeling a lot of gratitude for the little things.”
Among the “little things” for which to be grateful comes a significant accomplishment for Alicia Keys. The celebrity mom has written an autobiography, called More Myself: A Journey, that provides insight into her struggles and triumphs in life.
“We all sometimes are afraid of our brightness,” Alicia Keys said when asked about her daily goal to be the best version of herself. “Don’t be afraid of your greatness, and how bright, and brilliant, and unbelievable you are,” the singer advised other Super Soul Sunday fans. “That took me a long time to learn,” she added, “but I’m finally at full wattage. No holding back!”
