Wendy Williams is officially divorced from Kevin Hunter. The talk show host finalized the terms of her marriage dissolution on Tuesday (January 22).
According to Page Six,
“Both Williams and Hunter have agreed to forego alimony. Williams did, however, agree to keep a $1 million life insurance policy on herself that will go to Hunter should she die, but she has the right to reduce the amount on a yearly basis.”
Wendy Williams must also cover her ex-husband’s healthcare costs under her plan. The talk show host also agreed to buy her former spouse out of the company so that she owns the exclusive rights to her brand.
Some may recall Kevin Hunter receiving termination papers from Wendy Williams’ show, Wendy, last April. The news of Kevin’s firing came in sequence with the official announcement of Wendy’s plans to divorce her husband.
The event that set everything in motion was the birth of Kevin’s lovechild with his mistress, Sharina Hudson. Wendy told her talk show fans that she took a lot of things in her marriage for the sake of her and Kevin’s son, Kevin Hunter Jr. A baby outside of the marriage, however, was where Williams placed the line.
“I never thought that I would be in this position,” Wendy said during an interview with The New York Times Magazine last year. “I’m a very forgiving person, but there’s one thing that I could never be a part of, and that one thing happened,” the talk show host added. “Kevin has a daughter.”
Kevin Hunter was denied child support for Kevin Hunter, Jr., who is presently over the age of eighteen and a college student, in his divorce petition. Stay tuned for more Wendy Williams’ divorce news!
