Gospel singer Micah Stampley and his wife, Heidi Stampley, are mourning the death of their teen daughter, Mary Stampley. The family shared the sad news of the 15-year-old’s passing via Micah’s publicist on Tuesday (October 22).
“It is with a heavy heart that the Stampley family would like to announce the passing of their 15-year-old daughter, Mary Stampley,” the statement, shared on Facebook, read. “Please keep their family in your prayers and respect their privacy as they deal with this traumatic event,” the Gospel singer’s publicist wrote.

Micah Stampley recently shared the joys of fatherhood in an op-ed post written for Huffington Post Black Voices. “Fatherhood is the most beautiful experience any man could encounter,” Micah told his readers. “There are many ups and downs that come with parenthood, but it is extremely important to be open-minded, patient, loving, caring and non-judgmental,” he added.
“I was a soft-spoken kid and wasn’t too much trouble for my parents, but a few of my older brothers were the total opposite,” Stampley explained. “I enjoy being a father and I embrace all the challenges that come with it.”
