Shady Baby was anything but shady in the pictures she took with her mom. In fact, Kaavia gave smiles in all four of the shots her mom shared with Instagram fans. “Love when @kaaviajames comes to visit me on set,” Gabrielle told her fans.

Kaavia may visit her mom onset more often as L.A.’s Finest was renewed for a second season a few months back. “We are overwhelmed by the audience’s response to L.A.’s Finest,” Sony Pictures TV president Jeff Frost said in a statement.

“Gabrielle [Union] and Jessica [Alba] are brilliant together, and our incredible showrunners Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, and Pam Veasey did an amazing job of crafting an action-packed and riveting season one. We can’t wait to work again with this amazing team of prolific and talented executive producers and dive into the next chapter for Syd and Nancy.”

Gabrielle Union delved into her role in bringing L.A.’s Finest to fruition during an interview with Black Film earlier this year. “I created it,” the veteran actress shared. “It literally started off as a joke,” Union added. “We were sitting around having drinks and riffing on whatever happened to [the] different characters that I played.”

“I said, ‘From Bring It On did she go on to be a Laker girl, or had a knee replacement, and by the time it got to Syd, do you think she and Mike Lowery (played by Will Smith) got together?’ I hadn’t read any of the Bad Boys 3 scripts and I didn’t know if I was in it or not in it. The riffing then became, ‘Maybe it can be a show?’ I then called my manager and he was like, ‘That’s a show.'”

L.A.’s Finest is all about woman power as two detectives (Alba and Union) work to keep the streets of Los Angeles safe. The main stars give vibes of Bad Boys as they take the unconventional route to law and order.
