Kandi Burruss and her daughter, Riley Burruss, want you to be aware of childhood obesity and join them in doing something about the epidemic. The RHOA star and her “mini-me” teamed up to spread the word about Riley’s upcoming event, “Get Riled Up.”
According to the event’s website, “We are celebrating healthy living with an event for parents and their children, encouraging everyone to ‘Get Riled Up’ and get active.” The subjects of fitness and healthy living are close to Riley’s heart. It was, after all, just a few months ago that Riley gave YouTube fans an inside look into her journey to a more active lifestyle.
Riley admitted in one of her videos that she was just over 200 pounds when she decided to start exercising. At first, the teen did not believe that she could lose weight. And then, Riley lost five pounds. The unexpected weight loss gave the teen the inspiration she needed to keep going. Now, Riley is more than 60 pounds lighter and active.
More than 100,000 of Kandi’s Instagram subscribers love the notion of Riley hosting a family fun day centered around fitness. “That’s dope,” Tiny Harris wrote after seeing the promo video that Riley created to spread the word about her upcoming event. Another of Kandi’s Instagram followers wrote, “She’s really growing into her self confidence and boss lady demeanor.” Indeed, she is!
“Get Riled Up” takes place on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Sign up here!
