Tyrese celebrated his oldest daughter Shayla Gibson’s birthday with photos online on Thursday (July 11). The celebrity father was quick to tell his social media fans why his daughter’s face was covered in the candids.
“Let me get out the way early,” Tyrese began. “I have a court order in place that says I can’t post any pics with my daughter,” the actor explained. “I’m almost sure every proud father out there don’t realize how lucky they are that they can post every proud moment they have of their daughters.”
Tyrese, who has been going through a very public and rather nasty custody battle with his ex-wife Norma Mitchell, went on to tell his fans that posting the collage of photos that phase out his daughter’s face may harm his ambitions of having equal parenting rights. He, however, could not help himself given that today is Shayla’s twelfth birthday.
“I’m just jumping for joy cause she’s my firstborn,” the star dad gushed. “She’s so smart, she’s so powerful and mature,” Tyrese added. “She’s so kind to everyone and curious about everything. She’s such a great big sister and she told me the other day that her greatest gift is being my daughter and a big sister.”
Shayla is Tyrese and ex-wife Norma Mitchell’s only child together. The celebrity father also has a daughter named Soraya Lee Gibson with his wife, Samantha Gibson. Stay tuned for more celebrity family news!
