Monyetta Shaw is broadening her authorship horizon to adult books. The author has penned a second family-based book that is all about co-parenting.
The book, called Keep It Classy: Co-Parenting Strategies For Unstoppable Moms and Devoted Dads, delves into the notion of blended families. “There are no hard and fast rules on how to keep it classy,” Monyetta writes in her book. “Adopting the right mindset will definitely guide your steps,” she adds. “But, keeping it classy won’t be defined by the kind of clothes you wear, car you drive or how big or small the place you call home is. Your career and zip code are all irrelevant. You’ll define what keep it classy means to you and your family — however you envision it to look, sound and feel is entirely your choice.”
Monyetta goes on to advocate for peaceful relations after a bad breakup for the sake of the kids. “What does matter is how you and your ex communicate with one another in the presence of your children before, during and after your breakup,” the celebrity mom shares. “Our behavior and attitude at this crucial time shapes their feelings about themselves and future relationships. This is our opportunity to teach them valuable life lessons about love, friendship, coping with disappointment and conflict resolution.”
Monyetta Shaw has exhibited model behavior when co-parenting with her children’s father, Ne-Yo. The author has, in past times, made certain to have blended birthday parties in which Mason and Madilyn enjoy their special days with their half-brother, Shaffer Smith Jr. Monyetta has not engaged in pettiness that excluded little Shaffer’s mother, Crystal Smith, but rather invited Ne-Yo’s wife to join her in making the day a success. All adult members of the Shaw-Smith clan have truly been exemplary on the blended family front.
“For me, it’s quite simple,” Monyetta told her Instagram fans this past weekend. “My kids come first, and it’s extremely vital for me to set a positive example. Trust me, they are paying close attention!! And THAT makes every decision & every move that I make easy!”
