Monyetta Shaw and Ne-Yo are going against the grain of today’s society, which is often filled with drama. The celebrity parents give Us Weekly an inside look at their son and daughter’s joint birthday party that was all about positive vibes.
Monyetta and Ne-Yo gave Mason and Madilyn a “Shimmer and Shine” themed party with a Minion cake for their son and a princess cake for their daughter. The kids’ stepmother, Crystal Smith, helped the youngsters celebrate as she cheered along with Monyetta and Ne-Yo when Madilyn and Mason blew out the candles on their cakes.
“The party was awesome,” Ne-Yo exclaimed. “The kids all had a great time as did the adults. Everybody played well together,” he added. “Co-parenting is only hard when you make it hard. Drama only exists when you let it.”
Monyetta co-signed to Ne-Yo’s call for harmony saying, “We live in a world that unfortunately thrives off of drama and negativity. But I refuse to give into that. We are setting the foundation for our children by our actions and reactions.”
Shaw further explained, “The problem only comes when you act selfishly and not think of your children first. So with that in mind, I stand taller than ever as I continue to put my children first. There has to be some positivity in the world and it absolutely starts at home.”
Madilyn turns 7-years-old on November 7, 2017. Mason celebrated his sixth birthday last month. Stay tuned for more celebrity kids news!
